Anritsu announces the official market release of the 26.5 GHz and 43 GHz models from its series of MS2830A vector signal analyzers. Up to now, the previous models introduced in 2010 covered the 3.6 GHz, 6 GHz and 13.5 GHz bands.
The two latest MS2830A models now meet the need for measurements in the microwave bands, either using the spectrum analyzer's standard function or with the optional function of the signal analyzer as well as having all the available power of the built-in FFT tool.
Application fields such as digital satellite and terrestrial transmissions and microwave radar measurements can now be covered.
Models MS2830-044 and -045 also replace the previous MS2667C and MS2668C platforms while offering much better radio performance and measurement speed than the previous generation.
For higher frequency applications (beyond 43 GHz), the standard MS2830A-044/045 model allows combination with external mixers to support frequencies up to 110 GHz or even 325 GHz, depending on the manufacturer specifications.
As the MS2830A has a very high Intermediate Frequency (IF) (1.875 GHz), this enables the spectrum analyzer to operate with a reduced number of harmonics beyond 43 GHz, therefore ensuring a better dynamic range measurement is available.
In addition, complex signals with very wide bands (up to 1 GHz) can be processed by the spectrum analyzer or the FFT analyzer and can even be observed on a wideband oscilloscope using the MS2830A IF output port with no signal deterioration.
The MS2830A-044/045 models have excellent radio performance at microwave frequencies with a given noise floor of -144 dBc/Hz at 40 GHz, resolution BW filters from 1 Hz to 31.25 MHz, very fast measuring speeds and even more.
The spectrum analyzers standard functionality lets users retrieve predefined measurements such as ACPR measurements, channel power, Occupied bandwidth measurement, limit functions and frequency counter, etc.
Use of the FFT calculation included in the signal analyzer allows any waveform signals, up to 43GHz, to be captured and analysed using the 31.25MHz analysis bandwidth extension option.
The data processing functions (Spectrum, Power, Frequency, Phase and Spectrogram) allow the user to easily and quickly visualise an array of complex signals that are now in use within the various types of digital, military and wireless applications.
Combined use of the spectrum analyzer function and the vector signal analyzer (FFT) makes the MS2830A series a very high performance tool that is user-friendly and economical compared to other solutions currently on the market.
