The MagnaLOAD product line launches with Magna-Power’s all new distributed DSP architecture, MagnaLINK™, featuring digital control loops and an internally developed high-speed product-to-product communication protocol. The MagnaLOAD product line is designed to dissipate DC power during development, manufacturing, and validation of DC sources, including: power supplies, DC-DC converters, batteries, solar panels, fuel cells, motors, UPS, capacitor pulsing and electromagnets.
Magna-Power's patent pending Active Resistance Technology is a completely new approach to electronic loads. By utilising a switched binary matrix of resistances and MOSFET network, combined with Magna-Power's new MagnaLINK™ distributed DSP architecture, the ARx Series delivers the same features and performance as traditional electronic loads, at a fraction of the price. Beyond voltage, current, resistance, power and shunt regulator control modes, the ARx Series also provides a rheostat control mode, allowing direct control of the product's internal resistance network. Magna-Power offers a water-cooled version of the active resistance models with the WRx series up to 120kW, for applications needing high power density loads.
All MagnaLOAD products come standard with front and rear full control (host) USB ports, RS485, dual MagnaLINK™ ports for digital master-slaving, and a 25-pin D-Sub external user I/O connector with configurable pin mappings; LXI TCP/IP Ethernet and IEEE-488 GPIB interfaces are also available.
