Launched in 1964, GEYER Electronic started as a small retail store in Munich selling a wide range of electronic products. Jurgen Reichmann took over the Company in 1992 and changed focus, specializing in Frequency Control Products and speciality batteries. Headquarters were moved to the Grafelfing district of Munich in 2002 and the product ranges were divided a few years later allowing Geyer Electronic to concentrate entirely on the production and distribution of frequency products.
A key promise from GEYER Electronic is to ensure supply of any approved product for the length of a project and, whilst there have been many older THT products and SMT product casualties over the six decades, GEYER has worked hard to ensure this happens. As clients’ products are modified and new projects are introduced, the GEYER Team of sales professionals and engineers work with them to identify, qualify and supply the most suitable product from the GEYER portfolio, with cost, best-fit and supply continuation key considerations for the clients’ needs. As a true technology partner, design support, component selection, reference designs, testing and validation of client assemblies are just some of the services offered by the Design & Test Centre in Munich, alongside provision of samples of the high-quality products for evaluation by the client.
GEYER’s strength is its dedicated team, the core of which has remained unchanged for over 20 years, - offering technical expertise at the beginning of the project, expert sales support throughout the life of the project, and guaranteed availability for the duration. The engineers at the Design & Test Centre provide a facility to support the customer’s initial enquiry with detailed and personal consultations, the ability to cross reference and search for alternatives and equivalent components, offering reference designs containing schematics and circuit information required in the development of the project. A network of independent GEYER companies and distributors in the UK, USA, Asia and throughout Europe work alongside GEYER’s parent company in Munich to provide both local and global support, whilst factories in Taiwan, Japan and South Korea produce around 75 million pieces per month certified to ISO 9001 and, in some instances, AEC-Q200 standards.
Geyer became a limited company in 2022 and moved to its current location in Planegg, Munich, redesigning the Geyer website, together with an improved Android and a new windows-based PC version of the Geyer Y-design simulation app for circuit analysis, design and module testing. This was shortly followed by the launch of the Geyer webshop - a customer focused platform, offering access to a library of resources from technical data on individual products, to reference designs and white papers, supplementing the support of the Design and Test Engineers.
Investment in the product portfolio has been continuous and is ongoing, expanding the number of variants in existing lines and adding new award-winning high-quality product ranges for proven and new applications. GEYER Electronic now offers over 4,000 different crystals and oscillators with standard and demanding specifications, many of which are available at short notice from the stock in Munich.
GEYER ensures orders are delivered to scheduled dates, supplying quality products at competitive prices. Recent years have presented some interesting challenges to manufacturers in the electronics industry but GEYER’s forward thinking and planning has enabled them to continue offering customers first class service with excellent stock availability and lead times.
