Densitron Develops Drop-in Replacements for End of Life Seiko Instruments TFTs
1 min read
Densitron is developing a range of industrial grade TFT displays that can be used as drop-in replacements for obsolete Seiko Instruments (SII) TFTs. These Densitron-exclusive models cover the entire existing SII 2"- 7" display range, with resistive touch versions available, and offer outstanding optical performance on par with that delivered by Seiko's Fringe Field Switching (FFS) technology.
Current users of the recently discontinued Seiko Instruments (SII) TFT displays will be pleased to know that Densitron is developing a range of industrial grade TFTs that can be used as drop-in replacements for the obsolete parts. These Densitron-exclusive models cover the entire existing SII display range of sizes between 2" and 7", with resistive touch versions available.
To minimise migration cost and disruption to revenue stream due to product discontinuation and reintroduction, the replacement TFTs are specially designed to provide mechanical and hardware and software compatibility with the SII parts. They offer outstanding optical performance on par with that delivered by Seiko's Fringe Field Switching (FFS) technology in terms of contrast ratio (>500:1) and viewing angle (80°/80°/80°/80°).
The drop-in replacements will be introduced in Europe as new additions to Densitron's DET Industrial TFT range and can be further enhanced through the company's Engineering Design Service which offers options on integrating standard or custom display modules with touch screens, PCBs, Plastics, and/or Keypads.
