Output features include a typical voltage accuracy of ±2%, line regulation of±0.4%, load regulation of±0.5% (10-100% load), continuous (self-recovering) short circuit protection and low ripple & noise (typically 30mV pk-pk, 20Mhz bandwidth).
Efficiency is up to 95% with 0.1mA ultra-low no load input current and no requirement for a heatsink. This reduces the installation time and provides additional space around the converter when compared to traditional linear regulators. The operating temperature range of these devices is -40°C to +85°C and they are housed in a UL94 V-0 rated package measuring 11.5 x 9 x 17.5mm.
In addition to the 2A range the latest R3 series of Switching Regulators also includes devices with 0.5A and 1A outputs.
The 0.5A range feature an input range of 6.5-36V DC and outputs of 3.3, 5, 12 and 15V DC which can be configured to provide either a positive or negative voltage. The 1A range features an input range of 6-36V with the same output voltages available.

There are four different mechanical formats for the 0.5A models, open frame thru-hole, ultra-miniature thru-hole, SMT part and a new variant that is fitted with wires. The 1A models are available as either open frame thru-hole part or SMT. All parts, excluding the open frame devices, are housed in a UL94 V-0 rated package.
The entire R3 Switching Regulator range meet latest safety and EMC standards and have an MTBF of 2000K hours. These devices are suitable for a wide range of applications including POL architectures, IOT devices, industrial control systems, instrumentation and general electronics.
