New ADAPTICs line from Winslow aids bread boarding
1 min read
Winslow ADAPTICs has introduced a range of products which will aid the process of bread boarding, especially where stabilized power supplies are required. Operating from any 5.5v – 6v supply, these products which are supplied in either a 14 or 16 pin dual in line packages can supply a range of stabilized supplies from 0.8v to 3.3v all at 1 Amp.
Based around a synchronous buck regulator using a 4 MHz switching rate these devices have been designed for low noise and EMI. A low ripple current, typically less than 5mV, short circuit and over current protection makes the supplies suitable for most applications.
The 14 pin package, will give any one of the 6 available voltages (0.8, 1.2, 1.25, 1.8, 2.5 or 3.3) either factory set or user selectable via a small in- line switch, mounted on the device. The second package, 16 pin DIP, can supply two factory set 1 Amp supplies again from any of the available voltages. The supplies can be the same voltage or different.
These products will especially help in the bread boarding of devices which require multiple voltage sources like FPGAs and CPLDs along with any circuit which is driving varying I/O standards. Designed to fit on the standard 0.1" bread board they have a place also in final designs where plug in standardized supplies will greatly aid the in design process.
