NEXCOM Announces Rugged, Sunlight-Readable Panel PC for Semi-Outdoor Interactive Applications

Operating electronics outdoors, such as in kiosks or for environmental monitoring, poses unique challenges from weather, temperature fluctuations, and connectivity issues. Robust, adaptive designs are critical for these semi-outdoor systems in Smart Cities. NEXCOM, a pioneer in embedded computing for over 30 years, is unveiling its new HPPC Series of Embedded Touchscreen Computers at Embedded World.

Engineered for semi-outdoor applications, these systems have weatherproofing, sunlight-readable displays, and ruggedized construction. With seamless connectivity, they provide reliable access to city services.

The new HPPC Series is designed to meet the needs of Smart Cities in environments with extreme heat, cold, and humidity. The HPPC12-103 and HPPC15-103 models have bright, sunlight-readable displays exceeding 1000 nits, along with optically bonded PCAP touchscreens for optimal visibility and responsiveness. Leveraging open standards and customization, NEXCOM caters to industries like digital signage, EV charging, and outdoor automation with specialized solutions.

Vibrant Displays Deliver Clear Outdoor Visibility

The core of the HPPC Series is the high brightness display technology, enabling vibrant visuals and readability even in challenging outdoor lighting. Enhanced coatings minimize reflections and fingerprints for improved visibility. Moreover, optical bonding eliminates fogging while enhancing durability and touch sensitivity for reliable outdoor performance.

Built Tough for All-Weather Reliability

With rugged metal construction and fanless design, the HPPC12/15-103 operates quietly from -20°C to 60°C without maintenance. Advanced passive cooling maintains steady performance across temperature extremes without noise. The UV-cut glass and Anti-IR filters protect the display. With an IP65-rated front panel, the touchscreen resists liquid ingress. The HPPC12/15-103 thrives with high-visibility displays in extreme environments.

Energy Efficient with Remote Data Access

Powered by Intel Atom processors, these systems suit semi-outdoor installations with modest power needs. Auto-dimming further reduces power draw during inactive periods. Extensive connectivity plus optional WiFi 6E or 5G provide convenient remote data access, avoiding cable hassles.

Flexible Mounting for Custom Enclosures

NEXCOM's mounting kits allow easy integration into custom enclosures for diverse applications. With long product lifecycles, customers can implement solutions without worrying about premature discontinuation. NEXCOM also provides customization services to help partners incorporate these high brightness panels into optimal designs.
