Prismatic Supercapacitors – Ultra Compact but Strong!

Supercaps, also known as supercapacitors, are a special type of energy storage device that combine certain properties of rechargeable batteries with those of capacitors. They can store enormous amounts of energy this way and release it again very quickly, which makes them particularly valuable for many applications.

Compared to rechargeable batteries of the same weight, supercapacitors only have around 10 % of the energy density. However, their power density is around ten to a hundred times greater.
