Smart Lighting 2011 - Networked solutions for intelligent lighting

1 min read

3-4th May, Lindner Congress Hotel, Dusseldorf

The Smart Lighting event on networked intelligent lighting will focus on the state of the art technology and best practices in intelligent lighting. New to the equation will be the impact of networked ICT solutions and systems on the further enhancement of efficiency and management of smart lighting systems and solutions. The concept of 'lighting on demand' will be presented in a variety of applications. Additionally, the important role of enabling new technologies, such as of photonics and electronics, will be highlighted to benefit the further development of smartest lighting applications in the future. Efficient High Bright leds and in the very near future the oleds, are replacing incandescent, fluorescent and phosphorescent lighting in an increasing speed. HB-led and oled light sources are being sold as the first wave of solid state lighting, highly efficient, but not smart yet. A second wave of solid state lighting will emerge, with applications to transform the way society uses light in the future, by a holistic integration of advanced lighting systems, sensors, and adaptive control architectures, leveraging all the potentialities and capabilities of solid state lighting. Additionally managed network solutions will create a whole new area of business services based a.o. on innovative concepts such as of lighting on demand. The end user is also expected to benefit from these new solutions and services through reduced costs of energy consumption and of energy management. According to organisers, the Expodition offers an opportunity for companies to present themselves and their technology / product development to a wide range of global business executives. The Expo is amidst the conference settings and offers an industry-to-industry and a business-to-business marketplace alike. In addition, the Smart Lighting Conference will bring together all stakeholders from the lighting value chain for the first time in one single event. The Conference programme covers two days of presentations on technology development for intelligent Lighting systems (May 3) and Strategies and business opportunities for the commercialization of intelligent Lighting systems.
