Analog Devices has introduced what it claims is the industry's first 3GHz HDMI receiver for advanced television solutions. The ADV7619 dual port receiver is designed to enable AV designers to realise the full benefits of 3d and hd video formats.
Featuring HDMI specification version 1.4a support, 3d display resolutions and extended colourimetry, the mixed signal/analogue specialist says the single chip device is the first of its kind to resolve the complex analogue signal processing challenges required to bridge the gap between 2.25 and 3GHz.
"Movie makers are already generating 3d and 4k hd video content, yet AV systems are not capable of displaying such high quality video content using traditional 2.25GHz receivers," said Charles O'Roark, product line director, digital video products, Analog Devices. "With support for HDMI 1.4a technology and 3GHz connectivity, the ADV7619 offers a fundamental shift in AV designs, enabling designers to turn pro and home AV systems into 3d and 4k hd entertainment hubs."
As well as ADI's adaptive equalisation technology proprietary, the receiver incorporates the company's Xpressview fast switching technology, which is designed to enable automatic switching between multiple HDMI enabled AV systems in less than one second. It also offers an on-chip consumer electronics component controller, an integrated audio codec, support for high bandwidth digital content protection 1.4 and complete audio support of S/PDIF.
