8bit flash mcus target led lighting applications

Fujitsu Semiconductor Europe has announced the availability of its MB95F430 series of 8bit microcontrollers with embedded flash memory.
The 32pin mcus include four channels of built in analogue voltage comparators, as well as an operational amplifier. They are designed for small home appliances, as well as lighting and industrial equipment. Typical applications include led ballasts, induction heating, dc/dc converters, power tools and battery chargers.
According to Fujitusi, the devices incorporate several 8 and 16bit timers, 17 channels of 10bit a/d converters, pwm, I2C and USART serial communication modules. The on chip high precision RC oscillator and a low voltage detection circuit are said to help to reduce bom cost.
The dual operation flash memory has up to 100,000 erase cycles and 20 year data retention, which the company says negates the need for external E2PROM. In addition, the on chip debug module with single wire interface is optimised to speed up software development.
The MB95F430 series currently comprises six devices and is available in 32pin LQFP packages. Memory is available from 8KB flash/240B ram to 20KB flash/496B ram.
