MCUs target automotive audio and video applications
Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced a new series of ARM Cortex-M3 microcontrollers, specifically designed to support audio and visual connectivity and control in automotive applications.
Fully qualified in accordance with relevant automotive standards, the TMPM321F10, TMPM322F10, TMPM323F10 and TMPM324F10 devices are suitable for applications that require in vehicle audio playback from mp3 players, external usb devices and SD cards. The TMPM327C3D can also manage visual I/O applications (such as the display of images from a vehicle's rear view camera) as it implements an analogue CVBS decoder.
The mcus combine the low power, high performance ARM Cortex-M3 core with 1Mbyte of NANO Flash memory, 64Kbytes of on board ram, a 10bit analogue to digital converter and timers. Integrated connectivity options include usb 2.0, synchronous serial bus interfaces, CAN functionality, a serial bus interface offering I2C operation and general purpose serial I/O. They are offered in 100pin QFP, 100pin LQFP and 144pin QFP formats and have an operating voltage range of 3 to 3.6V.
