AC/DC supplies are ‘important addition’
1 min read
Avnet Abacus has added three series of open frame ac/dc power supplies to its portfolio. The three ranges, manufactured by Emerson Network Power, are intended for use primarily in data processing systems and medical equipment.
The NPS40-M, LPS100-M and LPS200-M ranges feature ITE, non patient contact and non patient critical medical safety approvals. They deliver from 45 to 125W with convection cooling and from 60 to 250W with forced air cooling. Input voltages range from 90 to 264V ac and all series include models with outputs of 5, 12, 15, 24 and 48V dc.
Power supplies in the NPS40-M series deliver up to 40W (or 60W with forced air cooling). With a footprint of 2 x 4in and a height of less than 1U, the range has a typical efficiency of 87% and features such functions as as remote sense, overload and short circuit protection. In no load conditions, the supplies consume less than 300mW.
Products in the LPS100-M series provide up to 100W (150W) with a typical full load efficiency of 88% from the same footprint as the NPS40-M range. Models in the LPS200-M series offer a maximum of 125W (250) with a typical full load efficiency of 86%. Their footprint is 3 x 5in and height is less than 1U. These models share advanced functions such as remote sense, adjustable output voltage (±10%), active power factor correction for compliance to EN61000-3-2, isolated output for supplying power to the fan, overvoltage protection, thermal overload protection, power fail signal and a built in emi filter.
"[These power supplies] represent an important addition to our product offering", said Cor van Dam, technical marketing director of Avnet Abacus, "as they are characterised by a great price/performance ratio and are provided by a manufacturer of proven reliability."
