Acquisition brings high speed conversion technology
In a move which brings it access to high speed, low power data conversion technology, Intersil has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Kenet.
Kenet’s FemtoCharge cmos technology is said to yield high performance and ultra low power a/d converters in an extremely small die area. These features are set to bring increased functionality in a variety of industrial and communications products, such as portable digital oscilloscopes and software defined radios.
Dave Bell, pictured, Intersil’s ceo, said: “Kenet has developed the world’s highest performance a/d converters with power consumption at a fraction of those currently on the market. This gives Intersil important technology leadership and access to many previously unserved markets.”
He added the company remains committed to key strategic acquisitions to broaden its portfolio.
