As populated pcbs become more complex, inspection of solder joints and components concealed by others becomes more of a challenge.
Goepel believes it has solved the problem with a module for its AOI system that provides angled view inspection. Images can be captured from any angle position in 1° steps. Various illumination variants, combined with intelligent inspection functions, are said to be the basis for providing maximum fault coverage at minimal false call rates.
The module is available for the OptiCon BasicLine standalone AOI system, as well as the OptiCon AdvancedLine and OptiCon TurboLine inline systems.
