AMP unveils ultra low latency quad H.264 encoder
Advanced Micro Peripherals has announced the availability of an ultra low latency quad channel H264 encoder card.
According to the embedded video solutions specialist, the H264-ULL-SD4 is an ultra low latency, quad channel, H.264 encoder on a single PCI/104 form factor board. The device has been designed to provide a solution for capturing and compressing up to four analogue video inputs at full size and at full frame rate to the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC (Part 10) standard.
AMP says the H264-ULL-SD4 can perform stream duplication to provide multiple encodings of the same input. This allows streams to be created at different resolution, compression settings dependent on requirements and available bandwidth.
The H.264 video compression and bus utilisation enables up to four H264-ULL-SD4 devices to be fitted in a PCI/104 system. This high definition, ultra low latency H.264 encoder card is suitable for applications for use in defence, transportation or remote platforms.
