Automotive qualified mosfets deliver 'benchmark' Rds (on)
1 min read
International Rectifier has launched a new range of trench HEXFET power mosfets for the automotive market.
Said to feature benchmark Rds (on), the automotive qualified devices are targeted at applications including electric power steering, integrated starter alternator, pump and motor control and other heavy loads on internal combustion engine and hybrid vehicle platforms.
The series is available in voltages from 40 to 200V and in a variety of surface mount device packages. Rds (on) is rated at 1.25Mohm at 40V, 2.1Mohm at 60V, 2.6Mohm at 75V and 4Mohm at 100V. According to IRF, a number of the devices feature a maximum current rating of up to 240A in a D2Pak-7P.
All of the devices are qualified to the AEC-Q101 standard, which requires that there is no more than 20% change in Rds (on) after 1,000 temperature cycles of testing. IRF claims that in testing, the mosfets actually demonstrated a maximum Rds (on) of less than 10% at 5,000 temperature cycles.
Production orders of the new series are available immediately and spice models are available on request.
