Power mosfets increase vehicle electrical efficiency
STMicroelectronics has extended its range of STripFET VI DeepGATE power mosfets with the introduction of nine new automotive grade devices.
The AEC-Q101 qualified 30 and 40V power devices are designed to achieve low conduction losses relative to their active chip size. They feature low on resistance ranging from 3.0 to 12.5milliohms in industry standard DPAK or D2PAK surface mount power packages. The series also includes both logic and standard level types.
According to ST, the mosfets minimise the energy normally lost in electrical drives and controls, leading to greater efficiency. The company says they also help to reduce heat generation, allowing for smaller, more lightweight assemblies.
