Cadence, Blu Wireless partner on 60GHz WiGig
Cadence has joined forces with Bristol-based start up Blu Wireless to develop IP for the 60GHz WiGig and 4G backhaul markets.
The news comes after Blu Wireless' earlier announcement that it is working with InterDigital to advance the technology for use in 4G and 5G backhaul small cells.
For this project, Cadence will contribute its analogue/mixed signal IP expertise, while Blu Wireless, will contribute its expertise in 60GHz band design.
Blu Wireless ceo Henry Nurser, pictured, said: "As our customers turn to 28nm and beyond for designs for the 60GHz communications market, it is important for them to be confident that they can rely on robust mixed signal and interface IP from Cadence that has been matched to our Hydra baseband architecture.
"By working with Cadence, we will be able to provide a complete System IP solution addressing our customers' time to market, cost and power demands."
