Cadence to acquire analogue IP start up
EDA specialist Cadence Design Systems is to acquire analogue and mixed signal IP core developer Cosmic Circuits.
Founded in 2005, Cosmic Circuits provides IP cores for mobile devices including USB, MIPI, audio and Wi-Fi cores designed for 40 and 28nm nodes.
It claims more than 50million ics containing its IP shipped in 2012.
"The combination of Cadence and Cosmic Circuits will provide customers with high quality IP to accelerate getting products to market," said Martin Lund, senior vp of R&D for SoC realisation at Cadence.
