Thermoteknix’ camera wins Queen’s Award for Innovation.

A select group of firms from the electronics sector have been awarded the UK’s most prestigious annual prize for business success – The Queen’s Award for Enterprise. This year, 139 Awards have been made – the second highest total for 10 years. There are 85 Awards for outstanding achievements in International Trade, 42 for Innovation and 12 for Sustainable Development. Amongst those electronics companies winning Queen’s Awards for Innovation are: Diamond Consulting Services, Image Processing Techniques, KeyMed, OneClick Technologies, Syfer Technology, Symbian and Thermoteknix Systems. Thermoteknix – winner of the Innovative Small Company Award at last year’s Innovation and Design Excellence Awards – has been recognised for its MIRICLE range of thermal imaging cameras (pictured). Featuring complex electronics and packaging, the cameras are used in applications ranging from industry to aerospace and motor sport. Dr Richard Salisbury, Thermoteknix’ founder and managing director, said: “The award recognises our commitment to being one of the UK’s technology leaders. We are transforming thermal imaging and infrared systems from being large, high power consuming, reliability challenged instruments into highly compact, solid state high performance cameras that embody low cost manufacture combined with reliability in some of the most challenging environments and applications.” * For more on the Innovation and Design Excellence Awards, go to www.ideawards.co.uk
