The launch of RS Components’ free guide to the WEEE Directive provides customers with an easy-to-follow reference source, covering everything from producer responsibilities, customer responsibilities, affected products and marking obligations to who has an obligation to collect WEEE and how this can be identified.
The guide also explains how RS is working in partnership with the WeeeCare Compliance Scheme, operated by WasteCare, to ensure that RS obligated WEEE is collected and then recycled or disposed of in an environmentally sound way, with the minimum of hassle to our customers.
“It is important that we offer the very best solution and guidance for our customers. We hope that our partnership with WeeeCare will give confidence that as a producer we have selected the most environmentally friendly method to demonstrate compliance,” said Lee Kilminster, RS’ WEEE project manager.
The WEEE Directive was put in place by the European Commission to address the environmental concerns that arise from the production and disposal of electrical and electronic equipment.
