Cypress unveils low power PSoC 5 series
Cypress has launched a low power version of its PSoC 5 family.
The company claims the PSoC 5LP series will open up a 'new realm' of potential applications for design engineers due to its high performance, high precision and flexible functionality.
The devices are designed to consume only 300nA in hibernate mode, and can wake up on IOs and retain the state of the cpu core, sram and device configuration.
According to Cypress, they offer many of the same features of the PSoC 5 with the additional functions of boost, EMIF, CAN, temperature sensor and faster SAR a/d converters.
These are said to enable the design and development of new applications needing single cell battery performance, as well as high precision analogue.
