Disruptive solutions winners announced
Four innovative small British companies are each to receive £100,000 to help them develop new technologies after they were declared the winners at the Innovate10 networking and innovation event.
Altrika, Arvia Technology, Bare Conductive and Oxford Photovoltaics were selected as the winners of the Competition for Disruptive Solutions, funded and managed by the Technology Strategy Board.
In the energy area, Oxford Photovoltaics will commercialise new solar glazing technology which has the potential to become a dominant solution in the Building Integrated Photovoltaic market. The glazing technology is printed directly on glass and can be semi-transparent in a wide range of colours. Meanwhile, in the digital area, Bare Conductive will commercialise a skin safe conductive ink, pictured, that can be manufactured at a fraction of the cost of existing inks and which has the potential to impact markets ranging from flexible printed electronics to physiology monitoring technologies and sensing interfaces.
A further eight finalists will each receive £25,000.
