DSP offers ‘world leading’ audio solution
Wolfson Microelectronics has introduced its first fully programmable standalone audio dsp and software suite. The WM0010 utilises a low power, high performance Tensilica HiFi dsp core and combines the company's own low power audio coprocessor with embedded system software, algorithms and software support.
According to product line manager Rob Dobson, the 'world leading' technology will allow manufacturers of Smartphones, tablet pcs and televisions to integrate their own software components and build an individual hd audio solution that supports an extensive range of key use cases. "The WM0010 offers fully integrated 'off the shelf' solutions to allow manufacturers to further differentiate their applications in the highly competitive consumer electronics market," he said.
Wolfson has also unveiled what it claims is the 'world's first' complete turn key noise cancelling solution for mobile phones. Designed to allow 'crystal clear' audio to both the caller and the receiver regardless of external environment noise, the WM2200 incorporates Wolfson's enhanced myZone ambient noise cancellation technology as well as transmit path noise cancellation, acoustic echo cancellation, wind noise rejection and Wolfson's receive path active noise cancellation technology.
