EBV unveils five EBVchips
Distribution specialist EBV Elektronik has unveiled the first products in its EBVchips strategy. Under the approach, EBV defines its own devices, based on customer requests, then arranges for these to be manufactured. EBV will hold exclusive distribution rights for up to five years.
"The benefit," said EBV president Slobodan Puljarevic, "is that customers get the latest technology, while suppliers get additional sales."
Five devices were unveiled at electronica. EBV has joined with Vishay to develop Genesis, an igbt module for residential photovoltaic inverters. The device, manufactured in Europe, integrates a trench igbt with SiC diodes in the Econo2 package.
Meanwhile, National Semiconductor has helped EBV to develop Wizard, a module capable of generating seven supplies ranging from 0.9 to 3V. The part is targeted at the mid range fpga market.
Other devices were an angle light sensor for automotive applications, an industrial interface being developed with Texas Instruments, and a regulator ic aimed at automotive applications which is being developed with STMicroelectronics.
