Embedded World: Altera showcases programmable logic technology
1 min read
Altera will be exhibiting a range of programmable chip solutions, advanced programmable logic devices and associated software tools, intellectual property (IP) and structured asic solutions at Embedded World.
New products on display include the 28nm Stratix V fpgas, designed to deliver the industry's highest bandwidth - targeted devices with integrated 28Gb/s and backplane capable 12.5Gb/s transceivers, integrated hard IP blocks including Embedded HardCopy Blocks, and partial reconfiguration.
The Arria V fpgas are said to balance cost and performance while delivering the lowest total power for mid-range applications, such as remote radio units, 10G/40G line cards, and broadcast studio equipment.
Altera's Cyclone V fpgas are designed to provide the industry's lowest system cost and power, along with performance levels that make the device family suitable for differentiating high volume applications. The fpgas achieve up to 40% lower total power compared with the previous generation, and incorporate efficient logic integration capabilities, integrated transceiver variants, and SoC fpga variants with an ARM based hard processor system.
According to Altera, its SoC fpgas enable users to reduce system power, system cost, and board space by integrating a 800MHz dual core ARM Cortex-A9 processor (including popular embedded peripherals and memory controller) with Altera low power fpga fabric using a high bandwidth interconnect backbone.
Altera can be found in Hall 4 Stand 334.
