1 min read
Microchip has today unveiled a new series of low pin count 32bit PIC32 microcontrollers.
The devices are available in packages down to 5 x 5mm and provide 61DMIPS of performance. They are said to be the smallest and lowest cost PIC32 microcontrollers, as well as the first to feature dedicated audio and capacitive sensing peripherals.
Rated for operation up to 105°C, the PIC32 MX1 and MX2 mcus include up to 128KB of flash and 32KB of RAM, two I2S interfaces for audio processing, an integrated hardware peripheral for adding mTouch capacitive touch buttons or advanced sensors, and an 8bit parallel master port interface for graphics or external memory.
Additionally, the new devices feature an on chip 10bit, 1Ms/s, 13 channel a/d converter, and serial communications peripherals, with the PIC32 MX2 MCUs adding usb OTG. The mcus are offered in packages from 28 to 44pins, with sizes down to 5 x 5 mm, and a 0.5mm pitch.
The PIC32 MX1 and MX2 mcus are available in 28pin SOIC, SPDIP and SSOP packages; a 36pin VTLA package; and 44pin QFN, TQFP and VTLA packages.
