Microchip brings integrated op amps to 8bit PIC mcus
Microchip has introduced two new 8bit PIC microcontrollers with integrated op amps, two comparators and an a/d converter.
The PIC16F527 and PIC16F570 are said to combine the ease of use of a PIC mcu with low cost analogue peripherals. Target applications include systems that require signal conditioning and amplification to interpret analogue inputs.
The mcus feature an all new hardware interrupt capability to give designers the freedom to implement more complex functions without adding software overhead. Self read/write programme flash is also integrated to allow for high use data eeprom functionality.
The PIC16F527 is offered in 20pin PDIP, SOIC, SSOP and QFN packages and is available for sampling and volume production. The PIC16F570 is available in 28pin PDIP, SOIC, SSOP and QFN packages and is expected to be available for sampling and volume production in June.
