Emerson buys Motorola ECC for $350m
Emerson has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Motorola's Embedded Communications Computing business for $350million. Motorola ECC will become part of Emerson Network Power.
According to Emerson, the deal enhances its ability to meet the embedded computing needs of customers in telecommunications and other industries, bringing complementary advanced technology into the organisation. Emerson Network Power and Motorola ECC both focus on AdvancedTCA and MicroTCA based products.
“We are excited to add Motorola ECC to the Emerson portfolio,” said David Farr, Emerson’s chairman, ceo and president (pictured). “The combination of Motorola ECC business with the $100m embedded computing business we acquired as part of Artesyn last year establishes Emerson as a leader in the embedded computing industry. Through this transaction, Emerson can provide greater capabilities to our customers as they adopt advanced new technologies and expand applications for their customers. We believe the addition of the Motorola ECC business significantly strengthens our position for growth.”
