The move towards use of high speed interconnects and ever more powerful processors, combined with demands for better reliability, manageability and serviceability, have spawned the creation of the Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture – or ATCA.
Creating ATCA represented the largest specification effort undertaken by PICMG – the PCI Industrial Computing Manufacturer’s Group. But it hasn’t stopped there: such is the knowledge and interest generated by ATCA, the effort has been taken further with the creation of MicroTCA, which applies to smaller form factor boards.
Originally targeted at telecoms applications, both ATCA and MicroTCA are generating interest from other sectors – including medical and industrial.
A one day conference taking place at the WilliamsF1 Conference Centre near Oxford will give you the ideal opportunity to find out more about the technologies and how they can be applied.
