GrammaTech introduces static analysis for Java
Source code analysis tool manufacturer GrammaTech has unveiled CodeSonar for Java, which flags quality and security defects in Java code including code written for Android.
The tool is designed to provide a unified interface by also working with CodeSonar for C/C++, allowing developers to analyse code written in multiple languages and manage warnings in a single location.
"CodeSonar has always been popular with customers writing high assurance software in C/C++," said Paul Anderson, vp of engineering at GrammaTech. "Many of our customers are also using Java. This release enables them to use a single tool with a unified user interface for both languages."
The company says that improvements to the analysis engine allow developers to pinpoint defects faster, while improvements to the interface make it easier to understand and analyse larger projects.
