High voltage gate drive ICs offer 85% smaller footprint
International Rectifier has extended its packaging portfolio with the introduction of a new PQFN 4 x 4mm package featuring IR's latest high voltage gate drive ICs.
The devices are designed to deliver a high density and efficient solution for applications including home appliance, industrial automation, power tools and alternative energy. With a footprint of 16mm², IR claims they offer up to 85% smaller footprint. Voltages up to 600V are supported.
"As inverterised motor control becomes more widely adopted, there has been increased demand to reduce system size and increase functionality," said Ying Kang, product manager, IR's Energy Saving Products business unit. "This new package, combined with our advanced high voltage IC platform accomplishes both of these goals,"
The PQFN 4x4 package has a low profile of less than 1mm and is compatible with existing Surface Mount Techniques. It is MSL2 rated and RoHS compliant.
