‘Industry’s first’ fully encapsulated digital power module
In a move to simplify smart power management design, Intersil has launched the 'world's first' fully encapsulated digital dc/dc power module with PMBus interface.
The ZL9101M is optimised for point of load power management in applications such as servers, telecommunications, networking and storage equipment. According to Intersil, it reduces the number of discrete components and complicated external ICs required to implement a complete point of load power management solution and offers an extremely thermally efficient package to improve system reliability.
The module's PMBus, which is enabled by an internal Zilker Labs digital controller, has been integrated to provide maximum design flexibility and enable easy real time monitoring of voltage, current, temperature and other parameters. The ZL9101M also includes adaptive performance optimisation algorithms to improve power conversion performance and efficiency across the entire load range.
