Digital power module delivers 17A output current
Intersil has announced the latest member of its power module family, the ZL9117M.

Capable of delivering up to 17A output current, the fully encapsulated device has been configured using a point and click PowerNavigator GUI and comes in a 15 x 15mm QFN package. It is said to provide an 'industry leading' power density of 1275W/in3.
The power module features built-in auto compensation algorithms, which optimise transient response over varying load conditions. In addition, it has an industry standard PMBus interface which supports remote performance monitoring and re-programming of installed systems.
Thermal resistance is rated at 11°C, which Intersil claims eliminates the need for a heat sink or air flow in most applications. Higher current demands are supported by paralleling modules with automatic current sharing.
