‘Largest router’ supports 1million users simultaneously
Telecommunications equipment developer ZTE has launched the ZXR10 T8000 Cluster Core Router, said to have the largest switching capacity of any such device.
Capable of supporting up to 2048 40Gbit/s interfaces, 1024 100Gbit/s interfaces and with a switching capacity of up to 200Tbit/s, each ZXR10 T8000 can provide high speed network access to more than 1million users simultaneously.
ZTE has also developed the chips at the heart of the router. These are said to include three critical technology breakthroughs: advanced high speed routing and forwarding; large capacity packet switching; and complex traffic management.
The ZXRIC SF600 switching fabric chip features 600G crossbar switching capacity and a three stage CLOS chassis technology. The ZXRIC PFE packet forwarding processing chipset supports 100G wire speed forwarding, while the ZXRIC TME multipolicy traffic management chip supports a five level hierarchical Quality of Service mechanism.
