Cree has announced a new series of led modules which it claims features industry leading colour rendering index and system efficiacy.

The LMH2 family is designed to speed time to market for high quality led luminaires and incorporates award winning TrueWhite technology. Cree says the two piece devices are capable of delivering 80 lumens per watt system efficiacy and a colour rendering index of more than 90. It claims the series enables manufacturers to incorporate their luminaire design into the thermal management system, potentially eliminating the need for secondary thermal management. "At Cree we understand what lighting oems need to bring led fixtures to market," said Mike Watson, senior director of marketing, Cree LED components. "The new Cree LMH2 modules make the benefits of TrueWhite technology affordable and widely available." The LMH2 devices are available at 850 and 1250 lumens and in colour temperatures of 2700, 3000 3500 and 4000K. They are designed for 50,000 hours of operation and are dimmable to 5%.
