MSC gets Smart, launches Atom based boards
MSC Vertriebs has joined Silica's Smart µSolutions Alliance, a network which is looking to drive the development and broad adoption of Intel's Atom processor platform.
MSC has also announced updates to its Qseven platform, the MSC Q7-US15W. The high end version comes with the 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor, 1Gbyte of sdram, two SATA-300 ports and three PCI Express x1 lanes. The cpu supports Intel Virtualisation Technology (IVT) and is therefore suitable for applications demanding computing performance.
The second module is built around the Z510 processor running at 1.1GHz. With 1Gbyte of sdram, SATA and three PCI Express x1 lanes, the board is suitable for applications requiring mid range performance and a selection of interface options.
An entry level version, aimed at price sensitive applications, comes with the Z510 processor, 512Mbyte of sdram and one PCI Express x1 lane.
