Multiple output SAW oscillators are ‘world’s first’
Epson has unveiled what it says are the world's first multiple output SAW oscillators.
Sampling now, the MG-7050 family is optimised to achieve very low jitter (120fs rms at 156.25MHz and 50fs at 700MHz) and low integrated phase jitter (12kHz to 20MHz).
The devices integrate a complete timing chain – including a SAW oscillator, frequency dividers, and fan-out buffers. According to Epson, this eliminates separate fan-out buffers - saving board space, power and cost.
The MG-7050 family also includes a programmable frequency divider so a single MG-7050 can provide two frequencies, further reducing bom and cost.
