Murata shrinks dc/dc converters by 26%
Measuring just 8.3 x 6.1 x 7.55mm, Murata's MEU1 series of 1W, single isolated output dc/dc converters is said to achieve a 26% footprint reduction when compared to previous generations, as well as a 25% increase in power density.
The converters are available as through-hole mounting with staggered style pinouts, and are specified over a temperature range of -40 to 85°C.
Murata says the reduction in converter volume and footprint allows engineers to reduce the overall dimensions of their application. Conversion efficiency has also been improved by typically 6% across the full load range compared to previous models.
The MEU1 series has load regulation that is typically 3% better than the industry norm when compared to similar miniature through-hole converters, reducing the need for any additional external regulation components and further conserving board space.
