Murata strengthens range of DC/DC converters

1 min read

Murata Power Solutions has added three new series to its Okami OKL range of non-isolated PoL DC/DC converters that feature the inspectable Land Grid Array (iLGA) package.

The OKL series is designed to offer a high power density, high power conversion efficiency (up to 95.3%) solution for space constrained embedded applications and is described as a 'cost effective alternative' to discrete design approaches. Designed for 3.3VDC low voltage supply applications such as telecoms equipment, the OKL-T/3-W5 and OKL-T/6-W5 series have an input voltage range of 2.4 to 5.5VDC, maximum output currents of 3 and 6A respectively and a programmable output range of 0.6 and 3.63VDC. According to Murata, the new modules achieve power conversion efficiency levels of up to 95.3% for the OKL-T/3-W5, and 93.5% for the OKL-T/6-W5. The OKL-T/6-W12 series has an input voltage range of 4.5 to 14VDC making it suitable for nominal 12VDC input applications such as servers and storage. These devices are said to have an output current of 6A and efficiency levels of up to 93% with a programmable output of between 0.6 and 5.5VDC. All of the new converters are available with optional sequence/tracking feature and either negative or positive on/off logic. The iLGA package, utilised on the OKL series, features small plated cutouts that allow probing and visual inspection of all signal pads The new modules are RoHS-compliant and designed to meet UL/EN/IEC 60950-1 safety approvals and FCC emissions certifications. Operating temperature range is -40 to 85ºC.
