NAND flash revenue to soar in 2013
The market for nand flash memory is headed for double digit growth this year, buoyed by its proliferating usage in devices such as mobile handsets, gaming consoles and hybrid storage drives.
IHS iSuppli says nand revenue will this year reach $23.1billion, up 14% from $20.2bn last year.
This success is attributed to growing demand for consumer electronics devices such as smartphones and next generation consoles, as well as a rise in the average selling price of nand.
Such variables overall are leading to a market opportunity for the technology that is more promising than ever, IHS believes.
