Singapore based mobile device developer Mobile & Wireless Group (MWg) has signed an agreement with Splashpower that will enable the former’s devices to be powered wirelessly.
Under terms of the agreement, MWg devices will be equipped by mid year with Splashpower’s inductive charging technology. Mark Billington, MWg’s ceo, said: “This is a superb opportunity for MWg to provide the convenience of wireless power to our customers. We are a strong advocate of innovative technology that enhances the consumer experience. The addition of this technology will provide end users greater flexibility in charging their handsets.”
“MWg is a proven innovator who will effectively showcase our technology,” adds Bill Campbell, Splashpower’s ceo. “The charging convenience and universality we offer is a natural addition to the exciting new devices in the 2008 MWg roadmap.”
Splashpower is a leading developer of wireless power technology. Its inductive charging technology enables power to be transferred without wires to a range of mobile devices. In addition, the technology is said to support charging on a single platform, rather than the current charger per device model.
