NXP debuts automotive grade isolated CAN transceiver
Adding to its portfolio of in-vehicle networking solutions, NXP has introduced a new automotive grade CAN transceiver with integrated galvanic isolation technology.
The ISO11898-2 compliant TJA1052i is said to ensure matching dynamic parameters, reduce board space, improve signal performance and increase overall reliability.
NXP claims adding isolation to the CAN transceiver simplifies the design effort to safely bridge between high and low voltage levels, making the device suitable for the emerging hybrid and electric vehicle market.
"By integrating galvanic isolation into the TJA1052i, we are the first in the industry to deliver an automotive grade solution that saves both space and money, while making it easier for our customers to build and connect their electric control units," said Toni Versluijs, vp of NXP's in-vehicle networking business.
