NXP Semiconductors in takeover bid?
NXP Semiconductors is rumoured to be in takeover discussions with Intel, Qualcomm and Broadcom.
The source is an unnamed banker who disclosed the information to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf. According to the source, the signals about an approach are 'now serious' and 'too strong to ignore'. The chipmaker has so far declined to comment.
NXP was founded by Philips more than 50 years ago and last year generated sales of $4.4billion.
