A strategic partnership has been formed in a bid to provide secure, open source enterprise solutions to government and corporate clients.
The alliance, between Ingres and OpenTechWorks, will focus on US Department of Defence and related government projects.
Ingres' ceo, Roger Burkhardt (pictured), said that he had high expectations of the partnership and was keen to allow government agencies to take advantage of the cost reductions and innovation benefits of open source technologies. He observed: "The OTW team have already demonstrated outstanding leadership through the recent contribution of DISA's CMIS application to open source. This major asset contribution is a real milestone in the adoption of open source methodologies in government and should serve as an inspiration to government agencies all around the world."
OTW's president, Robert Sterling, added: "The OTW / Ingres partnership will provide high value solution opportunities to our government and corporate clients. Ingres is a dynamic technology company with strong leadership and the Ingres database technology is proven in mission critical government applications all over the world. We are delighted to have them as a partner and look forward to offering our civilian and DoD customers with the very best in open technology solutions."
