Plastic electronics based E-reader to make debut
Plastic Logic has announced that it is to debut the first electronic book reader made of plastic electronics.

The QUE proReader is 8.5 by 11in and under a third of an inch thick and rather than using silicon, comprises millions of plastic transistors on a flexible substrate made from the same material used in plastic soft drink bottles. This means the e-reader panel is lighter, more flexible and more cost efficient than a glass substrate.
The device uses a black and white electronic display based on technology from E-Ink and includes a connection to a 3G wireless network for downloading books.
The e-reader is expected to compete head to head with the Amazon Kindle DX, however, Plastic Logic has added support for PowerPoint and Excel documents to the QUE.
The e-reader will be officially launched in January at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
