Power module offers 40 years' operating life

The RAC04 range is suitable for applications with mounting space restriction and low weight requirement. RECOM says that the module is designed to MIL Standards and RECOM claims it will operate for 350,000 hours. The product series operates with inputs from 90 to 264VAC at 47 to 440Hz and provides outputs of 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15 or 24V. The encapsulated modules weigh 26grams and measure 36.5 x 27 x 17.1mm. They are isolated to 3kVAC(4kVAC optional), short circuit protected and are overload and overvoltage protected. The new series features low no-load current – in standby mode, 120mW are drawn – according to RECOM, a power dissipation better by a factor 10 compared to conventional products. Converters feature as a standard Class B Filters to EN55022 and the modules can be operated with natural cooling at temperatures between -40 to 70ºC.
