Power mosfets use half footprint of DPAK packages
ON Semiconductor has introduced six new AEC-Q101 qualified, single channel power mosfets for load switching, dc/dc conversion and power management in automotive applications. Offered in a 5 x 6mm SO-8FL package and a 3.3 x 3.3mm WDFN-8 package, ON claims the devices use 50% of the footprint of industry standard DPAK packages, but offer the same or lower on resistance.
The modules are available in 30, 40 and 60V, N and P channel. They have a low on resistance to minimise conduction and power losses and high current capabilities from 6.3 to 65A to ensure robust load performance.
"Reducing overall module size and dependable, robust performance are two primary requirements for automotive electronics," said Paul Leonard, vice president of ON's Power MOSFET unit. "Our new devices enable automotive customers to save valuable pcb real estate or incorporate increased functionality into smaller overall designs."
