This initiative is underpinned by funding from the UK Space Agency, designed to foster cutting-edge collaboration among UK space technology companies and support innovation in onboard digital payloads.

At the core of this program is Ramon.Space's advanced onboard processor, the NuComm. These advanced processors are engineered to support expansive communication constellations, delivering a combination of high-capacity, low-power, and cost-efficient programmable digital communication solutions.

With the ability to be updated and reconfigured while in orbit, NuComm provides improved levels of operational efficiency, resilience, and sustainability in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations, significantly accelerating time-to-market and extending the lifecycle of space assets.

Avi Shabtai, CEO of Ramon.Space, said, “This project represents a quantum leap in AI-based software-defined space technology, laying the foundation for a new era of satellite communications and reinforcing the UK’s leadership in this vital industry.”

The NuComm onboard communication processor promises to deliver unrivalled speed and reliability in satellite communications, giving operators a decisive edge in an increasingly competitive market.

Commenting Dr Craig Brown, Director of Investment at the UK Space Agency, said, “The UK is a global leader in satellite communications and we’re accelerating the development of new services in low Earth orbit by backing innovative technologies like these advanced computing systems from Ramon Space.

“As well as supporting the development of this crucial component for onboard processing, funding from the UK Space Agency is supporting Ramon Space’s expansion in the UK, with new, high-skilled jobs being created for our thriving space sector.”
